Job Description

The Role

You will own the content engine — from website copy and SEO strategy to in-app nudge copy — with no team beneath you and no agency budget to hide behind. You'll work directly with the Head of Product & Growth and report your content pipeline, SEO/GEO metrics, and conversion data every week.

The mandate is organised around three compounding focus areas: content creation that builds brand presence across the web and social; SEO and GEO measurement that tracks how that content converts and surfaces in both traditional and AI-powered search; and EDM and outreach that converts engaged audiences into paying users. Every piece of content is ultimately measured against one north star — Solo upgrade rate.

By Month 5, you will have published the anchor benchmark piece that establishes OneLenz as the data authority in B2B signal intelligence — before any competitor accumulates comparable signal volume. That piece is your defining deliverable in Year 1.

Content-first scope in Year 1. This role is deliberately scoped to content creation, SEO/GEO, and lifecycle email in its first phase. Paid acquisition and broader growth experimentation come in Year 2 as we validate CAC and conversion mechanics. If you've been the solo content operator at a B2B SaaS startup and know what it feels like to run a content calendar without admin support — that's the profile we're looking for.

Requirements

Must Have

3–5 yrs B2B SaaS content marketing Website & long-form copywriting SEO strategy & keyword research GEO — AI search visibility optimisation Email lifecycle copywriting (EDM) PLG conversion copy (in-app, nudges) Solo operator — no support team below you Can publish 2 posts/week independently Writing portfolio demonstrating B2B voice

AI & Tools — Mandatory

Claude / ChatGPT for content workflows AI-assisted SEO (Surfer, Clearscope, or equiv.) Prompt engineering for long-form drafting Human editorial layer over AI output

Non-negotiable: AI tool proficiency is mandatory, not a nice-to-have. We are a small team and content velocity matters. We expect you to use AI to accelerate your first draft — and your editorial judgement to make it accurate, credible, and distinctively OneLenz. Candidates who don't use AI tools in their content workflow will not be considered.

Benefits

Traits We Look For

Ships without perfectionism paralysis. Publishes good content on Wednesday rather than waiting for perfect content on Friday. Velocity is a competitive advantage at this stage.

Multi-surface content thinker. Sees a product insight and can simultaneously turn it into a blog post, a newsletter section, an X thread, and an in-app nudge — not just one format.

Measures against conversion, not vanity. Every piece of content connects to CTR, form fills, or a Solo upgrade event — not just pageviews or social impressions.

GEO-aware. Understands that AI-powered search is changing how B2B buyers discover tools — and actively structures content so OneLenz surfaces in generative answers, not just blue links.

EDM as a craft, not a checkbox. Writes email sequences that feel like a conversation, not a drip campaign. Every triggered email has a reason to exist and a clear next action.

Reads the product, not just the brief. Spends real time in the product before writing a single word about it. Accuracy over speed when the two conflict.

AI-native but editorially rigorous. Uses AI to accelerate drafts, not to abdicate quality. The published output is always yours to defend.

Comfortable with ambiguity. We don't have a brand bible yet. You'll shape the voice, not receive it from a brand team. Low ego, high curiosity.

What success looks like at Month 6: Website copy is tight and converts. Two SEO blog posts live every week, with measurable organic growth in GSC. OneLenz appearing in Semrush AI Overview results for target queries. Email nurture sequences running autonomously in Customer.io. Outbound sequences live in Outplay. Three publishable case studies in the sales team's hands. The founding team is no longer writing any external content.
