GROUP HEAD – SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (SCM)

Location: Umbergaon, India (Pan India Operations & International)

Reports To: Managing Director

Function: Supply Chain Management

Nature of Role: Full-Time | Senior Leadership

JOB SUMMARY

The Group Head – Supply Chain Management is a senior leadership role responsible for leading and transforming the end-to-end supply chain organization across India. The role will ensure cost-efficient, resilient, and digitally enabled operations aligned with global best practices across all business units of the Group.

This position will lead planning, procurement, logistics, inventory, EXIM, digital transformation, governance, and capability building while driving strong business alignment with Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. End-to-End Supply Chain Leadership

• Own the complete supply chain value chain including planning, procurement, manufacturing

support, warehousing, distribution, and EXIM operations.

• Lead Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.

• Balance service levels, operating costs, and working capital efficiency.

• Drive standardization and continuous improvement across supply chain operations.

2. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Excellence

• Implement category management and strategic sourcing frameworks.

• Develop global sourcing strategies to ensure supply continuity and cost competitiveness.

• Lead supplier segmentation and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).

• Drive should-costing, contract management, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) practices.

• Ensure ethical sourcing and compliance with procurement governance standards.

3. Logistics & Distribution Optimization

• Design and optimize the national logistics and distribution network.

• Manage plants, depots, warehouses, and distribution hubs efficiently.

• Lead 3PL / 4PL partner management through performance-based contracts.

• Improve OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) delivery performance.

• Reduce logistics cost-to-serve across the network.

4. Inventory & Working Capital Management

• Own inventory strategy for raw material, WIP, and finished goods.

• Implement advanced planning tools and forecasting models.

• Improve inventory visibility and stock responsiveness.

• Drive reduction in slow-moving and obsolete inventory.

• Improve cash-to-cash cycle time and inventory turns.

5. EXIM & Trade Compliance

• Lead international sourcing and export operations.

• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, DGFT norms, WTO frameworks, and trade

agreements.

• Optimize duty structures, trade benefits, and import/export processes.

• Build robust governance across global trade operations.

6. Digital Supply Chain Transformation

• Drive ERP implementation and process integration across supply chain functions.

• Leverage AI / ML for demand forecasting and supply planning.

• Implement warehouse automation and supply chain control towers.

• Build a strong culture of data-driven decision-making.

7. Risk Management & Supply Chain Resilience

• Develop end-to-end supply chain risk management framework.

• Build contingency plans for supply disruptions.

• Implement multi-sourcing strategies and safety stock models.

• Monitor geopolitical, logistics, supplier, and market risks proactively.

• Ensure business continuity and operational resilience.

8. ESG & Sustainability

• Lead green logistics and carbon reduction initiatives.

• Drive sustainable sourcing practices across vendors and partners.

• Reduce packaging waste and improve circular supply chain practices.

• Ensure compliance with ESG reporting requirements.

9. Governance, Controls & Performance Management

• Establish strong SOPs, internal controls, and audit mechanisms.

• Ensure compliance with trade laws, anti-bribery regulations, and ethical standards.

• Develop KPI dashboards and governance review mechanisms.

• Provide leadership with timely and actionable supply chain insights.

10. Leadership & Organization Development

• Build a future-ready and high-performing SCM organization.

• Develop succession pipeline and leadership bench strength.

• Coach and develop talent across functions and locations.

• Foster collaboration with Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, and Business Heads.

• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

KEY COMPETENCIES:

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of strategic and systems thinking, with the ability to connect operational decisions to broader business outcomes.

Strong commercial acumen, digital and analytical capability, and the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels are essential.

The role further demands demonstrated change leadership, and the capacity to manage risk and navigate crisis situations with composure and decisiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Commerce, Logistics, or any related discipline from a recognized institution.

• Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain or Operations

preferred.

• Professional certifications such as APICS CSCP / CPIM, Six Sigma, or Lean would be an added

advantage.

• 18 to 25 years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain Management.

• Experience in complex, multi-location manufacturing and distribution environments.

• Strong exposure to global sourcing and international trade operations.

• Proven track record of leading large-scale supply chain transformation initiatives.

• Demonstrated success in delivering measurable cost optimization and operational efficiency outcomes.

• Experience in handling comparable scale and complexity within reputed organizations.
