Position Overview
The Group Financial Controller is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of consolidated financial reporting across GEDU Group's global entities. This is a senior technical finance role with significant cross-functional collaboration across regional finance teams and business partners.
The role requires strong expertise in group consolidation, UK GAAP (FRS 102), and multi-currency accounting, along with the ability to coordinate effectively across geographies.
Key Responsibilities
Group Consolidation & Reporting
- Prepare consolidated financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102)
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end group close processes
- Oversee intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and FX translation
- Deliver management reporting to senior leadership
Acquisition & Post-Acquisition Accounting
- Lead accounting for business combinations, including PPA and goodwill
- Support post-acquisition integration and alignment with group policies
Audit & Compliance
- Act as primary contact for group auditors
- Ensure compliance with statutory and internal control requirements
Technical Accounting
- Provide guidance on complex accounting matters
- Maintain group accounting manuals and policies
Tax & Regulatory Support
- Collaborate with regional teams on corporate tax, VAT/GST, and transfer pricing
- Support global tax planning initiatives
Process & Systems Improvement
- Improve consolidation and reporting processes
- Support ERP and finance systems optimisation
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in group consolidation and statutory reporting
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) and multi-currency accounting
- Experience in international or multi-entity environments
