Why This Role Exists
As HKM Group enters its next phase of growth, the organization seeks a Group CFO who can architect robust financial governance, enable scale, and institutionalize systems across multiple trusts and projects. This role goes far beyond traditional finance management. The Group CFO will serve as a strategic co-pilot to the CEO, a custodian of donor and stakeholder trust, and a key enabler of sustainable impact at scale.
Role Overview
The Group CFO will lead end-to-end financial strategy, governance, compliance, and controls across all group entities. All finance, accounts, MIS, audit, and compliance functions will report into this role. This is a senior leadership position requiring the ability to manage complexity, build systems, and balance financial discipline with mission-led growth.
Responsibilities
1. Group Financial Strategy & Governance (Across All Verticals)
Act as the financial architect for all group entities and trusts
Partner with the CEO on long-term strategy, sustainability, and scale
Drive annual budgets, long-range plans, and rolling forecasts
Ensure optimal capital structure and disciplined fund deployment
Establish strong financial governance aligned with donor, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations
2. Financial Planning, Controls & Performance Management
Design standardized budgeting, costing, and performance frameworks
Drive cost optimization, unit economics, and margin discipline
Monitor cash flows, working capital, and liquidity across entities
Enable data-driven decision-making through structured financial insights
3. Funding, Banking & Capital Structuring (Group-wide)
Manage relationships with banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions Structure term loans, working capital, and project finance Oversee donor funds, grants, and restricted fund utilization Support fundraising and funding strategy with financial rigor
4. MIS, Reporting & Institutional Systems
Build a single source of financial truth across trusts and projects
Establish robust MIS, dashboards, and consolidated reporting
Lead ERP / accounting system implementation and optimization
Deliver timely and insightful reports to the CEO and leadership
5. Audit, Compliance & Risk Management
Lead statutory, internal, and trust audits across all entities
Ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST, FCRA (where applicable), and other regulations
Proactively identify financial, operational, and compliance risks
Maintain high standards of transparency and audit readiness
6. SOPs, Internal Controls & Process Discipline (Critical Mandate)
Institutionalize SOPs across departments and verticals
Strengthen approval matrices, delegation of authority, and controls
Standardize financial and operational workflows
Enable governance-led scale rather than people-dependent processes
7. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead and mentor finance and accounts teams across the group
Build scalable, future-ready finance capabilities
Drive accountability, performance culture, and professional growth
8. Vertical Applications
The above responsibilities apply across all group verticals, including:
Large-scale feeding and social welfare programs
Education initiatives (Basil Woods Schools)
Eco Village and infrastructure projects
Cultural and heritage trust operations (HKHT) Each vertical will require tailored financial models, compliance approaches, and controls, while operating within a common institutional framework.
Qualifications & Skills Required :
Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience
Experience in NGOs, education institutions, infrastructure projects, or multi-entity organizations preferred
Proven ability to manage complexity, scale, and governance

Compensation & Opportunity :
CTC: 45 60 Lakhs per annum
