Role Overview:
We're looking for a passionate and imaginative Graphic Design Intern to support our branding, marketing, and digital media initiatives. You'll work on real client projects across multiple mediums from social media campaigns and presentations to print assets and website visuals all while gaining valuable mentorship and portfolio-building opportunities in a fast-paced, collaborative studio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing brand identity systems, including logos, color palettes, typography, iconography, and visual frameworks
- Design high-quality static creatives for social media, marketing campaigns, emailers, and ads (Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Ads, etc.)
- Create presentation designs, pitch decks, case studies, and slide templates aligned with brand guidelines
- Support the web/UI design team by producing visual assets, hero banners, image overlays, and illustrative components
- Prepare digital and print-ready collateral, including business cards, brochures, event assets, and PDF documents
- Collaborate with content writers and marketers to bring ideas to life visually, translating briefs into engaging visuals
- Iterate designs based on internal feedback and client direction while meeting deadlines and managing time effectively
- Maintain consistent branding and design quality across all touchpoints, using defined style guides or helping create them
- Contribute to motion design projects through concept storyboards, illustrated frames, or static assets for animation (optional but valued)
- Stay updated on industry trends, visual design techniques, and new tools to bring fresh ideas to the table
Key Competencies:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; working knowledge of Figma is a plus
- Solid grasp of core graphic design principles layout, color theory, grid systems, spacing, balance, and composition
- Ability to design for multiple digital formats (social media, web, mobile, decks) as well as for basic print formats
- Excellent visual storytelling and the ability to convert abstract concepts into visual form
- Strong time management and file organization skills you maintain proper naming conventions and deliver assets in usable formats
- Attention to detail in pixel alignment, font spacing, contrast, and responsiveness across screen types
- Comfortable receiving and acting on feedback with a learning mindset

This internship is intended for candidates proficient in professional design tools. If your experience is limited to Canva or similar templated platforms, we kindly request you not to apply. At VelossaLabs, we work extensively with Adobe Creative Suite and expect strong foundational skills in industry-standard tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience or interest in branding design, visual identity systems, and packaging (even academic projects count!)
- Familiarity with no-code platforms like Wix, or Webflow for producing and testing visual layouts
- Exposure to HTML/CSS basics is a plus (for understanding how designs translate to web)
- Enthusiasm for visual storytelling, product marketing, and startup culture
- A well-structured portfolio showcasing original design work academic, freelance, personal, or experimental is strongly preferred
