Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Government Sales Manager to lead and drive sales initiatives across central, state, and local government sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in selling IT hardware, surveillance systems (CCTV, VMS, command & control platforms), or related technology solutions to government agencies.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, managing end-to-end government sales cycles, handling tendering processes, and building long-term strategic relationships with public sector clients. The role requires close collaboration with internal technical and leadership teams to deliver compliant, competitive, and high-impact proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue government business opportunities across departments, PSUs, and smart city projects
- Manage the complete sales lifecycle including lead generation, pre-sales coordination, bidding, and closure
- Handle government tenders (RFPs, RFQs, EOIs) including documentation, compliance, and submission
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders and decision-makers
- Drive business growth through existing networks and partnerships within the public sector ecosystem
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and propose solutions aligned with tender requirements
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and policy developments in government procurement
- Ensure timely execution of contracts and post-sales account management
Qualifications
- Proven experience in government sales within companies dealing in IT hardware, surveillance systems, security solutions, or related technologies
- Demonstrated success in managing and winning government tenders and procurement processes
- Strong understanding of public sector buying cycles, compliance requirements, and vendor registration processes
- Established network within government departments, system integrators, or public sector units is highly preferred
- Expertise in sales strategy, account management, and revenue growth in government accounts
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong business acumen with a data-driven and result-oriented approach
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru with travel as required
