Role Overview
The General Manager – Sales will be responsible for driving overall sales growth, strengthening distribution, and leading the sales function across Tamil Nadu. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution to scale business operations and achieve aggressive growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement sales strategies to double the current sales turnover.
- Drive both primary and secondary sales performance across the state.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to refine business strategies.
- Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Sales Operations & Analytics
- Oversee sales administration and sales analysis to improve efficiency.
- Track KPIs, MIS reports, and performance dashboards for informed decision-making.
- Identify gaps and implement corrective actions to optimize sales outcomes.
Distribution Management
- Appoint new distributors and strengthen the existing distribution network.
- Expand market reach by increasing the number of retail outlets.
- Ensure effective stock movement and availability across all channels.
Market Expansion & Product Focus
- Drive product range penetration across markets.
- Develop initiatives to increase visibility and demand for key SKUs.
- Identify new business opportunities and untapped markets.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the existing sales team with an unbiased and inclusive approach.
- Build trust and ensure smooth acceptance of leadership within the team.
- Drive performance culture through training, coaching, and regular reviews.
Distributor & Market Relations
- Handle grievance redressal for distributors and resolve market-related issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with key trade partners.
- Ensure alignment between company objectives and distributor performance.
Strategic Initiatives
- Develop and execute new sales strategies and growth plans.
- Improve route-to-market efficiency and cost optimization.
- Lead initiatives for long-term business sustainability and scalability.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and market regulations.
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams.
- Represent the company in key business forums and trade discussions.
