Job Summary
The Global Head SAP Head SAP Platforms & Services is responsible for defining, delivering and continuously improving the SAP landscape. The role ensures SAP solutions are reliable, compliant, harmonized, and evolving aligned with Sandoz's business strategy and Tech roadmap.
This role drives standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement of the SAP landscape to enable Sandoz's productivity, quality, and growth aspirations
Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) strategy aligned with enterprise goals.
- Define governance frameworks, standards, and methodologies for SAP solution delivery.
- Partner with business and IT leadership to shape the SAP roadmap, including S/4HANA, cloud, and integration strategies.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Own end‑to‑end SAP solution design across modules and platforms, ensuring architectural integrity from strategy through delivery and run.
- Act as the global guardian of the SAP landscape, governing standards, reference architectures, and design quality while leading end‑to‑end programs from blueprint to stabilization.
- Ensure consistency, scalability, and quality of SAP implementations and enhancements, enforcing common templates, master‑data rigor, and non‑functional requirements (security, performance, resilience).
- Continuously evaluate emerging SAP technologies, tools, and innovations (e.g., S/4HANA, BTP, AI/automation, integration patterns) and curate an adoption roadmap with measurable business impact.
- Drive SAP evolution in tight coordination with enterprise and business teams to enable decommissioning of legacy systems, reduce technical debt, and simplify the application portfolio.
Operational Excellence
- Define and maintain SAP best practices, templates, and reusable assets to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement to drive operational reliability and reduce recurring issues.
- Ensure SAP system stability, performance, and compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize the SAP operational landscape by reducing technical debt, improving uptime, and streamlining processes.
- Oversee change and release management to guarantee safe, predictable deployments across environment.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead the SAP CoE team across different Tech. functions
- Build, mentor, and manage a high performing, future fit SAP team (functional, technical, and integration experts).
- Foster strong collaboration with Technology and business stakeholders, project teams, and external partners.
- Promote agile ways of working, knowledge sharing, training, and capability development across the organization.
Governance & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with SAP, system integrators, and technology partners.
- Oversee licensing, contracts, and vendor performance.
- Ensure adherence to architectural standards, change management processes, and project governance
Minimum Requirements
What you'll bring to the role:
- 12+ years in SAP architecture, solution design, or delivery roles.
- Experience leading or shaping SAP landscapes in a global, regulated, and complex environment (pharma/healthcare preferred but not mandatory).
- Demonstrated track record in ECC, S/4HANA, SAP BTP, integration frameworks, and cloud-based SAP services (e.g. Ariba, Fieldglass, Concur).
- Collaborative leader with strong influencing skills across business and tech., who builds trust and drives alignment.
- Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
- Strong communicator who can translate complex SAP topics for senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem solver who thrives in complex environments.
