Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled SAP ABAP Lead/Architect with strong experience in S/4HANA and modern ABAP development frameworks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building scalable, cloud-ready SAP solutions aligned with SAP's Clean Core and Extensibility strategy across S/4HANA Private and Public Cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into high-quality technical designs and scalable solutions.
- Design, develop, and enhance ABAP applications across reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms.
- Develop modern applications using:
- ABAP CDS Views (Core Data Services)
- OData Services (V2/V4) and Fiori/UI5 applications
- Build and deploy applications using SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) and Fiori tools.
- Work on S/4HANA extensibility models:
- In-App Extensions (Key User)
- Developer Extensibility (BAdIs, Enhancement Framework)
- Side-by-Side Extensions on SAP BTP
- Collaborate with functional teams to ensure alignment with SAP best practices and Clean Core principles.
- Perform performance optimization and code pushdown techniques using HANA capabilities (AMDP, CDS optimization).
- Debug and resolve complex issues across SAP modules and integrations.
- Contribute to integration scenarios involving APIs, IDocs, and middleware (CPI/Integration Suite).
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, transport management, and quality processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Minimum 2+ year experience as Architect.
- Strong experience in S/4HANA implementations / conversions.
- Expertise in:
- ABAP on HANA
- CDS Views, AMDPs
- OData Services & SAP Gateway
- Fiori/UI5 development
- Enhancement Framework, BAdIs, User Exits
- Good understanding of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and extension architecture.
- Experience with interfaces and integrations (IDocs, APIs, EDI, 3rd party systems).
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
- Exposure to SD, MM, or FI modules is a plus.
- Knowledge of Clean Core strategy and SAP cloud extensibility concepts is highly desirable.
- SAP Certification (ABAP / Fiori / BTP) is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in S/4HANA Public Cloud or Private Cloud environments.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and DevOps practices in SAP.
- Industry experience in Automotive and Manufacturing is a plus but not mandatory.
