What You'll Do
The Functional Finance Team is an integral part of the worldwide Finance organization, providing insight supported by meaningful and accurate financial information to help guide and influence the decision making process. The team partners with the leadership of our Global Functions, senior finance management, and local, regional and global finance colleagues across the organization.
With this role, we are looking for a trusted and experienced finance professional to act as Cross-functional Finance Business Partner to our Functional finance team and Global Finance leadership. This role will drive impactful financial analysis, support data-driven decision-making, and enable the organization to achieve its strategic priorities.
Specifically, the role will provide decision support with respect to non-billable costs strategy and associated investments, financial planning, and developing structured reporting to translate financial results into actionable recommendations. The role will play an active role as a thought partner with Finance leadership in establishing, and managing to certain KPIs, targets, and metrics.
The responsibilities of this role will also include
- Drive planning discussions within the functional finance team, providing clear communications on planning guidelines, key milestones and overall narrative
- Lead the consolidation, review, and system sign-off processes for the Global Capabilities & Programs (GCP) plan load and global allocations
- Collaborate with functional teams on change drivers and support preparation of materials for GCP plan walkthroughs.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and management of the end-to-end data cube for cross-functional reporting of WW non-Billable costs. Partner closely with internal teams, including Global Analysis, Accounting, and BI&A Products & Services, to ensure alignment.
- Lead central analysis and prepare narratives for month-end and year-end NB cost actuals.
- Collaborate with functional teams and maintain risks and opportunities to the plan, ensuring visibility and alignment with leadership on expected landing.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to leadership, conducting deep dive analysis on historical data to inform and influence future business strategies and decisions.
- Coaching and mentoring of the team
- Challenging status quo and pushing for reporting automation and innovation, and process improvement, simplification and optimization

What You'll Bring
. A minimum of 10 years related finance experience
. Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting/economics and/or a MBA preferred
. Excellent communication skills - both oral and written, with the ability to adjust to multiple audiences and the confidence to present to and influence senior management
. A passion for working in a collaborative team environment
. Critical Thinking and problem solving - proven ability to work through complex problems and analyses in providing a thoughtful concrete solution
. Motivation and self-drive - excited by tackling challenges and pro-actively finding new ways to provide value to senior leadership
. Advanced Excel skills - experience building scalable financial models and analysing large data sets
. Advanced PowerPoint presentation experience with the ability to turn data into business insights
. Other strong system skills a benefit, such as knowledge of Tableau, Alteryx, Think-Ce
Who You'll Work With

The Functional Finance team is currently made up of 30+ people across Boston, London and India working to provide financial decision support to BCG's functional management teams. Your key stakeholders will include functional managers and directors located across the globe and overseeing a portfolio of a variety of business services.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
Building relationships will be critical to success in this role in order to establish a seat at the table with senior management as a true business partner. This will require the ability to balance when to listen, negotiate, and flex or push back where needed. Further, you will be looked at as the subject matter expert for all financial aspects of the cross-functional topics, which will require you to be proactive in learning and understanding the business which you are supporting, to align our financials to the value and services that are being provided.
This role will require a confident person with exceptional judgment, who can make and influence decisions with senior management through ownership of the annual financial planning, cost trend analysis, business cases and portfolio management for investments, large scale transformations, etc. To drive educated decision making, you need a sound understanding of the bigger picture and an ability to prioritize.
This role will also require sound team management skills so as to balance overall business prioritization and individual role satisfaction.
Ultimately this person will need to have a consultative approach to problem solving, working closely with stakeholders to understand the problem we are trying to solve, providing deep analysis, and offering viable solutions.
