SYSTRA, a global leader in engineering and consulting for public transport and mobility solutions, is actively bidding for Urban Planning projects across India. We're seeking a highly skilled GIS Expert to fill a key position in these bids. With over 65 years of expertise, SYSTRA is dedicated to delivering reliable, cost-effective, and tailored solutions for efficient transportation and urban infrastructure, leveraging its comprehensive know-how across the entire project lifecycle.

Missions/Main Duties

As a GIS Expert, you'll be responsible for:

• Gathering, processing, and integrating spatial data from various sources like satellite imagery, aerial photography, surveys, and existing GIS databases.
• Collaborating with urban planners, architects, and engineers to compile and incorporate both spatial and non-spatial data relevant to city master plans.
• Ensuring all data is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with project requirements.
• Using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to conduct spatial analyses, identifying trends, patterns, and relationships between urban elements (e.g., zoning, population density, infrastructure, green spaces).
• Creating detailed and interactive maps representing various components of the city master plan, such as transportation networks, utilities, land use, flood zones, and environmental features.
• Performing complex spatial analysis to inform key decisions, like identifying optimal locations for new developments or transportation routes.
• Developing spatial models to simulate different urban scenarios (e.g., population growth, traffic patterns, land use changes) and predicting their impacts.
• Analyzing potential outcomes of proposed projects, helping stakeholders visualize effects on the urban environment, infrastructure, and residents.
• Conducting zoning analysis to efficiently plan land use and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Analyzing existing zoning maps and spatial layouts to recommend changes or improvements based on the new master plan.
• Preparation of base maps, spatial attributes data collection and vetting of maps.

Profile/Skills

• Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in a relevant field.
• Experience: Proven experience in developing and managing geo-databases.
• Strong practical experience with GIS software tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, and other platforms.
• At least 2 completed projects in Sikkim/Hilly/North Eastern States is a plus.
