Gis Developer

Job Summary:

The GIS Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Geographic Information System (GIS) applications and tools. This role works with spatial data, mapping technologies, and GIS platforms to support decision-making through geospatial analysis and custom application development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop GIS applications using platforms like ArcGIS, QGIS, or open-source tools
• Create, manage, and analyze spatial databases and geospatial data
• Develop custom tools, scripts, and web-based GIS applications using Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages
• Integrate GIS with other enterprise systems and data sources
• Perform spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and map visualization tasks
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather GIS requirements and deliver tailored solutions
• Maintain and update geodatabases, shapefiles, and coordinate systems
• Ensure data accuracy, metadata standards, and map quality
• Provide technical support and training to end users
• Stay updated with emerging GIS technologies and industry trends

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in GIS application development
• Proficiency with GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or SQL for GIS development
