Job Description

About the Role

The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for planning, performing, and reviewing geotechnical design and analysis activities for industrial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out soil and rock analysis using both analytical and numerical methods.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical investigation plans, borehole logs, and test result interpretations.
  • Use PLAXIS 2D and GeoStudio for modeling, slope stability, seepage, and deformation analysis.
  • Design shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and underground structures.
  • Check bearing capacity, settlement, and overall stability for various foundation types.
  • Evaluate ground improvement methods and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Support excavation design, slope protection, and retaining systems for basements and earthworks.
  • Prepare detailed Geotechnical Investigation Reports (GIR) and Geotechnical Design Reports (GDR).
  • Review and validate contractor or consultant submissions and provide technical feedback.
  • Coordinate with design, site, and construction teams to resolve geotechnical issues.
  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, quality standards, and engineering principles.
  • Conduct back-analysis and performance assessment to improve design accuracy.
  • Participate in design review and project coordination meetings.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for all design and analysis deliverables.
  • Present results, design recommendations, and risk assessments clearly to clients and team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil & Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical design and analysis for industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical software tools.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in PLAXIS 2D, GeoStudio, AutoCAD, and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good understanding of field investigation, laboratory testing, and construction practices.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong technical documentation skills.
