JOB TITLE : GM LEGAL & COMPANY SECRETARY

LOCATION : This is a full-time, on-site role for Dehradun (Uttarakhand).

REPORTS TO :Founders / Managing Director

JOB OVERVIEW :

The GM Legal and Company Secretary will be responsible for overseeing legal compliance, corporate governance and risk management for the growing luxury jewellery retail chain across North India. This senior role supports expansion into new stores while handling IP issues like trademarks and litigation relevant to the brand. The position demands expertise in retail-specific laws, including consumer protection and contracts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS :

Ensure regulatory compliance with Companies Act 2013, SEBI, FEMA and sector-specific rules for jewellery retail, including store leases, vendor agreements and consumer laws.

Manage board meetings, draft notices/agendas/minutes, maintain statutory registers and handle share allotments/transfers.

Advise board on legal obligations, represent in regulatory dealings/court and coordinate IP litigation (e.g., Class 14 trademarks) with law firms.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSETS REQUIRED :

LLB

ICSI Fellow/Associate membership

8+ years in secretarial/legal roles with 2+ years as Company Secretary in retail/PSU/private firms.

Preference for IP/trademark experience in luxury goods and co-ordinating.

Readiness for North India travel between stores in Noida, Jaipur and beyond.

Reporting and Compensation

Reports to CEO, managing legal team and external counsel for arbitration/notices.

Experience- 4 to 8 years
