Role Overview:
The GM - Compliance will be responsible for leading the organization's regulatory and compliance framework, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. The role requires deep expertise in RBI, SEBI, and financial regulatory compliance, along with strong governance and risk management capabilities.
The candidate will work closely with senior leadership, regulators, and cross-functional teams to ensure the company operates in line with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with regulations and guidelines issued by Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), and other regulatory bodies.
- Monitor regulatory updates and implement necessary changes in internal policies and processes.
- Liaise with regulators and manage regulatory reporting, filings, and inspections.
Governance & Risk Management
- Develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies, and internal control mechanisms.
- Conduct risk assessments and compliance reviews across business functions.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and regulatory guidelines.
Compliance Operations
- Oversee statutory filings, disclosures, and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial, corporate, and securities regulations.
- Manage internal and external compliance audits and regulatory reviews.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with senior leadership, legal teams, and operational units to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on compliance requirements and regulatory updates.
- Handle regulatory queries, inspections, and escalations.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of RBI, SEBI, and financial regulatory frameworks.
- Expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Experience managing regulatory audits, inspections, and filings.
- Strong stakeholder management and regulatory liaison skills.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- CA (Chartered Accountant) + CS (Company Secretary) - Mandatory
- Additional certifications in compliance, risk management, or corporate governance will be an advantage.
Preferred Background:
- 10-15 years of experience in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, or risk management roles.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, NBFCs, capital markets, or other regulated financial institutions.
- Prior experience working with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Securities and -Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulated organizations.
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks applicable to financial institutions and global financial operations.
- Experience handling regulatory audits, filings, and compliance governance for large organizations.
