Position Title: Department Head / General Manager (Mines-Operation & Maintenance)
Location: Sarlanagar Cement Works, Sedam
Qualification: BE/B Tech. (Mining Engineering)
Certification: First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competence
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage all mining operations and associated maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials (limestone, laterite, etc.) to the cement plant, while maintaining safety, environmental compliance, cost efficiency, and equipment reliability

Mines Planning- To develop long term strategy on Mines life for Limestone to ensure sustainability of mining operations at the unit | - Plan for completion of exploration and calculation of reserves.
- Plan the quality of Limestone to be supplied to plant based on balance reserves.
- Collaboration with Central Mines team for Capex planning, monitoring, and setting quality parameters and planning for managing legal matters.

Operational Management -Organize smooth supply of limestone, with desired quantity and optimum quality. -Planning for resources and machinery are available to the mines team for execution | - Monitor the time-based plans for supply of Limestone.
- Ensure availability of necessary resources like mine machinery, consumables (owned and contractual), manpower etc for achieving the targets
- Moniter HEMM operations, identifying areas for improvement and developing plans to minimize downtime and reduce costs

Cost Management- To monitor mining cost to ensure achievement of business goals. -Drive new ideas and improvement plans to reduce cost. | - Plan the expenses as per budget and monitor them for better utilization.
- Monitor the efficiency parameters and maintain them as per requirement
- Maintaining an optimal inventory of critical spare parts to ensure timely availability for maintenance while preventing overstock. This involves coordinating with procurement to ensure cost-effective purchasing.

System Management -Monitoring systems in place to enable implementation of best practices - Monitoring safety, environment and health procedures for maintenance and hazard free operations in mines | - Driving sustainability initiatives like Rainwater harvesting, zero waste mining, biodiversity management and other initiatives to ensure sustainable mining practices
- Monitor all the safety indicators and drive improvement.
- Drive Progressive Consequence Management to maintain discipline and motivation.

Audit and Legal Compliance- -Assess and monitor the compliances of all the legal and statutory requirements | - Monitor compliance with Legal & statutory requirements related to Mines for efficient, safe, environment friendly and smooth functioning of Mines.
- Plan in consultation with UH of the gaps to be filled on view of legacy or new requirement.
- Ensuring that all HEMM are equipped with the necessary safety features and devices as specified in various DGMS technical circulars and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Records are strictly complied with by all personnel involving.

People Management: -Ensure availability of trained workforce as per demand in the mines function -Ensure that the workforce is motivated by providing timely guidance to enhance productivity | - Enabling SMART Goal settings and conducting performance reviews in coordination with HR
- Identification of common training needs of team for building competency for current and future requirement of organization in coordination with HR Function
- Develop talent pipeline in the function for and guide team members accordingly.

Build and create safety culture to achive zero incident target.
| - 100% implementation of all applicable safety standards in department with target of zero injury and no hazard to men, machinery, environment and health of employee deployed in respective department
- Implementation, adherence of Progressive Consequence Management and taking needful action.
- Effective contribution in respective safety subcommittee, daily walkthrough round, be visible felt leader and sharing views in apex safety meeting for building and inculcating strong culture of safety.
- Ensuring self and team timely report or submit SO, any incident or accident along with taking analysis and corrective actions in respective systems. Also conduct CFSA by self & team as per schedule to ensure contractor safety as per CSM guidelines
- Motivating and bring new technology, innovation way of saving natural resources like water, power, controlling on air pollution etc with sustainable initiatives
- Ensure to completion of abnormalities observed and reported in daily walk through across department. (b) Completion of all Incident Investigation within timeline
- Ensuring time bound action for closing out for audit (FPSA,SPSA,TPSA and External Audits) findings before target date and compliance of all applicable RCN/BCN recommendations
