Role Description :

The General Manager Project & Construction Management (Data Centre)- India will lead complete project execution with full P&L accountability. The role demands strong techno-commercial acumen, disciplined governance, client-first orientation, and the ability to build and lead a highly productive project team.

The incumbent will operate as the single-point accountability leader for project delivery ensuring safety, quality, timeline adherence, cost control, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. End-to-End Project Leadership

  • Lead large-scale Data Centre projects independently from mobilization to handover.
  • Drive integrated execution across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing & Commissioning.
  • Ensure adherence to contract scope, change management, and claims strategy.
  • Deliver projects within approved schedule and cost baselines.

2. P&L Ownership

  • Own full project P&L, including revenue realization, margin protection, and cost optimization.
  • Monitor cash flow, billing cycles, and working capital discipline.
  • Drive proactive risk mitigation to protect margins.
  • Ensure robust forecasting and financial reporting to VP/COO.

3. Construction & Project Management Excellence

  • Implement structured project controls (schedule tracking, cost monitoring, risk register).
  • Drive weekly, monthly review mechanisms with clear dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ESG standards.
  • Institutionalize best practices in site management and resource deployment.

4. Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performance, multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Develop second-line leaders across Project Managers, Planning, QA/QC, and Site Leads.
  • Foster accountability, ownership, and productivity culture.
  • Ensure optimal manpower planning and resource utilization.

5. Customer-First & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the face of Listenlights for the client at project level.
  • Maintain strong engagement with client leadership and PMC teams.
  • Drive structured communication, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure high client satisfaction and repeat business potential.

6. Governance & Process Discipline

  • Ensure strict adherence to project governance framework.
  • Drive bid-to-execution handover clarity.
  • Maintain structured documentation, contractual compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Align with corporate review cadence (Monthly Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews).

Must Have Requirements:

1. Experience

  • 2230+ years in EPC / MEP / Mission-Critical Infrastructure.
  • 810+ years leading large-scale Data Centre or high-value infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience managing multi-crore (large-ticket) projects independently

2. Technical & Commercial Strength

  • Deep understanding of project controls, contracts, risk management, and claims.
  • Strong construction management expertise in Electrical, Mechanical & allied systems
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership experience.

3. Leadership Competencies

  • Ability to build and scale highly productive site teams.
  • Strong decision-making under pressure.
  • High emotional intelligence and stakeholder alignment capability.
  • Highly process-driven and governance-oriented mindset.

4. Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical preferred).
  • MBA (added advantage)
  • PMP or equivalent certification (desirable).
