Role Description :

The GM Estimation & Proposals (Data Centre) will lead end-to-end estimation, costing, and proposal management for large-scale MEP Data Centre projects. The role requires deep technical expertise (Electrical / Mechanical), strong commercial acumen, structured governance discipline, and the ability to build a highly productive estimation team.

The incumbent will play a critical role in improving win ratios, safeguarding margins, and positioning Listenlights as a solution-driven partner.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. End-to-End Estimation Leadership

• Lead complete estimation cycle: tender review, scope analysis, BOQ validation, costing, and final submission.
• Interpret technical specifications for hyperscale and enterprise data centres.
• Drive clarity in scope inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions.
• Ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and margin discipline in bids.

2. Technical Depth MEP (Data Centre)

• Bring strong domain expertise in:
• Electrical systems (HV/LV, UPS, DG, transformers, switchgear)
• Mechanical systems (HVAC, precision cooling, chilled water systems)
• Fire detection & suppression
• BMS & IBMS integration
• Provide value engineering options during bid stage.
• Validate engineering inputs with design and execution teams.

3. Commercial Acumen & Margin Governance

• Develop structured cost models with clear risk provisioning.
• Ensure appropriate mark-ups, contingencies, and risk loading.
• Support contract review, commercial clarifications, and negotiation strategy.
• Protect bid margins aligned with DC vertical financial objectives.

4. Proposal Strategy & Customer Orientation

• Work closely with Business Development to understand client drivers.
• Shape solution-led proposals aligned with client uptime, scalability, and sustainability goals.
• Participate in client presentations and technical-commercial discussions.
• Support bid strategy for improved win ratio.

5. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Build and mentor a high-performance estimation team.
• Establish clear productivity benchmarks and submission timelines.
• Develop second-line leadership within the function.
• Drive collaboration between estimation, procurement, engineering, and execution teams.

6. Process & Governance Discipline

• Institutionalize standardized estimation templates and cost libraries.
• Maintain database of historical project costs and benchmarking metrics.
• Ensure structured bid/no-bid evaluation mechanism.
• Drive compliance with internal review cadence before submission.

Must Have Requirements:

1. Experience

• 1822+ years in EPC / MEP / Mission-Critical Infrastructure.
• 810+ years leading estimation for large-scale Data Centre or similar high-value projects.
• Proven track record in techno-commercial bid leadership.

2. Technical & Commercial Strength

• Deep technical expertise in Electrical or Mechanical systems (Data Centre preferred).
• Strong commercial understanding of costing structures, risk loading, and contracts.
• Experience in value engineering and competitive pricing strategies.

3. Leadership & Behavioural Competencies

• Ability to build and scale a highly productive team.
• Customer-first mindset with solution-driven thinking.
• Highly process-driven and governance-oriented.
• Strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation support skills.

4. Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• MBA (Operations / Finance preferred).
• Professional certifications (PMP / RICS / equivalent) are advantageous.
