About the Opportunity

A leading global supplier of specialty metals and supply chain solutions is establishing a new aerospace supply chain hub in Singapore to support a major international aerospace programme.

This facility will become a critical operational centre responsible for inventory management, processing, logistics coordination and supply chain excellence across the Asia-Pacific region.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to lead the establishment, launch and long-term management of this strategic facility.

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a world-class aerospace operation from the ground up.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Global Programme Director, the Head of Operations will be responsible for delivering the successful setup and operational performance of the Singapore hub, including facility selection, team recruitment, operational readiness, customer implementation and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the selection, evaluation and commissioning of a suitable Singapore facility.
  • Manage all aspects of facility setup, layout design and operational readiness.
  • Deliver capital projects safely, on time and within budget.
  • Recruit, develop and lead the Singapore operations team.
  • Establish operational procedures, inventory controls and performance metrics.
  • Implement aerospace quality systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Act as the primary operational interface with global stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement, safety and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure world-class performance in quality, delivery, inventory accuracy and customer service.
  • Collaborate with global functions to support future business growth and scalability.

Key Objectives

  • Successfully establish and operationalise the Singapore hub.
  • Deliver all approved capital projects within budget and agreed timelines.
  • Build and develop a high-performing operational team.
  • Achieve world-class standards for safety, quality and delivery.
  • Position the facility as a strategic Asia-Pacific centre of excellence.
  • Support future regional growth opportunities across the region.

30 / 60 / 90 Day Expectations

First 30 Days – Assess & Plan

  • Complete a comprehensive review of programme requirements.
  • Assess facility options and establish the project roadmap.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and leadership teams.
  • Review capital requirements and develop an implementation plan.
  • Identify operational, quality and staffing requirements.
  • Establish governance and reporting structures.

Days 31–60 – Build & Execute

  • Finalise facility selection and implementation schedule.
  • Begin recruitment of core operational leadership positions.
  • Launch approved capital projects and vendor engagements.
  • Develop operational processes, KPIs and quality systems.
  • Establish training plans and workforce development strategies.
  • Implement project controls and risk management processes.

Days 61–90 – Operational Readiness

  • Complete critical recruitment activities.
  • Ensure facility and equipment projects remain on schedule.
  • Finalise SOPs, quality procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct operational readiness reviews.
  • Establish performance dashboards and operational metrics.
  • Present a long-term operational strategy and growth roadmap to executive leadership.

Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of operational leadership experience within aerospace, metals distribution, manufacturing or supply chain operations.
  • Proven experience establishing or expanding operational facilities.
  • Strong capital project management experience.
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within highly regulated manufacturing or aerospace environments preferred.
  • AS9100 knowledge and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma qualifications are advantageous.
