General Manager - Brokerage Business (Asia)

Overview
An exciting opportunity to lead the launch and growth of a brokerage business focused on the Asian markets. This role is suited for a commercially driven leader with a proven track record in financial services, business development, and operational management.

As General Manager, you will be responsible for establishing the business, defining the commercial strategy, building a high-performing team, and driving sustainable revenue growth. This is a hands-on leadership role within a high-growth environment, offering the opportunity to shape the business from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the establishment and operational readiness of a new brokerage business.
  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and expand market presence across Asia.
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing sales, marketing and commercial team
  • Design scalable operating models, business processes and performance frameworks that support efficient growth and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive client acquisition, strategic partnerships and market expansion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term business objectives and execution plans.
  • Oversee sales planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
  • Foster a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture focused on accountability, collaboration and client success.
  • Ensure the business operates in accordance with applicable regulatory and governance requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • 8-10+ years of leadership experience within financial services, brokerage, capital markets or fintech.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, commercial leadership and revenue generation.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets across Asia with an established industry network.
  • Experience launching, scaling or managing businesses within a growth-stage or entrepreneurial environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that deliver measurable business results.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent commercial acumen, integrity and a hands-on approach to execution.
Ideal Background

Candidates may come from brokerage firms, exchanges, trading technology providers, capital markets fintechs, institutional trading platforms, FX, CFDs, derivatives, or other financial market infrastructure businesses. Experience managing P&L, building commercial teams and expanding businesses across APAC will be highly advantageous.
