Key Responsibilities

1. Project Cost Planning

• Lead cost estimation and budgeting for residential, commercial, and township projects.

• Develop detailed project cost plans including:

o Materials

o Labour

o Machinery

o Contractor costs

o Infrastructure and development costs.

• Ensure project budgets align with company profitability targets.

2. Cost Control & Monitoring

• Track actual costs vs approved budgets across projects.

• Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.

• Implement systems for real-time cost monitoring and reporting.

3. Tendering & Contract Costing

• Evaluate contractor bids and vendor quotations.

• Support tendering processes with cost benchmarks and analysis.

• Review BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and rate analysis.

4. Vendor & Procurement Coordination

• Work with procurement teams to optimize vendor pricing and contract terms.

• Develop cost standards for materials and services.

5. Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare project cost reports for management and board reviews.

• Provide insights on:

o Cost variances

o Margin analysis

o Cash flow impact

o Project profitability.

6. Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

• Implement value engineering initiatives to reduce costs without affecting quality.

• Benchmark costs against industry standards and previous projects.

7. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor costing engineers, quantity surveyors, and finance analysts.

• Build standardized costing processes across projects.

8. Compliance & Controls

• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and audit requirements.

• Maintain documentation for project costing approvals and revisions.

Required Qualifications

• Civil Engineering with Project Costing experience

• 15–20+ years of experience in construction or real estate costing

• Strong knowledge of:

o Project budgeting

o BOQ & quantity surveying

o Construction contracts

o Cost control systems.
