Position Title:General Manager Business Development (Designation may be finalized as Head of Business Development based on seniority and experience)

Location: Pune or Bangalore (Preferred)

Experience Required: 1520 years (strictly in sales and marketing of Electronics Manufacturing Services / Electronics Contract Manufacturing Services)

Reporting To: Directors

Executive Summary & Role Mandate

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Business Development Executive to spearhead the next phase of growth for our company within the high-value Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) domain. This senior leadership role is critical for driving market expansion, establishing strategic OEM partnerships, and substantially increasing revenue across our core offerings: PCB Assembly (PCBA) and Box-Build (System Integration). The successful candidate will be a seasoned expert, leveraging deep industry relationships to secure high-ticket domestic and international contracts.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Growth & Revenue Acceleration (SEO Focus: EMS, PCBA, Box-Build)

  • Lead the market entry and business acquisition strategy for comprehensive manufacturing services, specifically Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Through-Hole Technology (THT), Testing, and System Integration solutions.
  • Target and secure Tier-1 and Tier-2 OEM clients across high-growth verticals: Industrial Electronics, Automotive Electronics, and Medical Devices.
  • Formulate and execute aggressive sales and market penetration plans for both the domestic Indian market and strategic export territories.
  • Mandate: Achieve and exceed annual revenue targets, with a focus on driving $100 Crore+ yearly business acquisition.

2. Global Key Account Management

  • Serve as the executive liaison for managing and expanding a portfolio of high-value, strategic international and domestic accounts.
  • Own the entire commercial lifecycle, from initial pitch and complex RFQ (Request for Quotation) handling to full-cycle negotiation and contract closure.
  • Ensure unparalleled client satisfaction and contract governance, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain).

3. Market Intelligence & Brand Positioning

  • Actively monitor and translate emerging trends in EMS, IoT (Internet of Things), Smart Manufacturing, and specialized electronics sectors into actionable business opportunities.
  • Elevate the company's profile by representing the organization at prestigious global events, B2B trade shows, and industry conferences (India and Overseas).

4. Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to the Business Development and Sales teams, fostering a high-performance, results-driven culture.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive board on pricing strategies, long-term strategic planning, and overall profitability/margin management.

Candidate Profile & Core Expertise

Mandatory Experience (Non-Negotiable):

  • 1520 years of exclusive, dedicated experience in Sales and Business Development within the Electronics Contract Manufacturing (ECM) or EMS industry.
  • Prior experience with or direct knowledge of leading players like Kaynes Technology, Centum Electronics, Avalon Technologies, SFO Technologies, or similar top-tier EMS providers is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing and closing key accounts generating annual revenues of 100 Crore or more.
  • Essential expertise in managing and growing international/export client relationships.
  • A strong, established network across the targeted sectors: Industrial, Automotive, and Medical Electronics.

Technical & Commercial Acumen:

  • A deep, comprehensive technical understanding of modern PCBA manufacturing processes (e.g., component placement, soldering, AOI/X-ray testing) and Box-Build assembly methodologies.
  • Expert-level skill in technical sales presentation, RFQ-to-win conversions, and complex commercial negotiation.
  • Exceptional executive-level communication and presentation abilities.

Education & Travel:

  • A Graduate degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical) or Science is preferred.
  • An MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Marketing/Business Management is a plus, though practical EMS experience is paramount.
  • Travel: Requires frequent domestic travel for client engagement and periodic international travel for export account management and trade representation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Success Metrics

  • Total Annual Contract Value (ACV) and Revenue Growth specifically from EMS/PCBA/Box-Build services.
  • Number of New OEM Clients Acquired and successful penetration into Export Markets.
  • Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Account Health/Retention Rate.
  • Accuracy and conversion rate of the sales pipeline/forecasting.
