Job Description

We are seeking an experienced GCP Lead (7-10 years) to architect, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires expertise in Kubernetes (GKE), DevOps automation, security best practices, and cloud-native architectures.

As a GCP Lead, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust cloud infrastructure strategies, optimizing Kubernetes-based workloads, and leading a team of engineers to deliver highly available, secure, and cost-efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes Management

  • Architect, deploy, and optimize highly scalable and secure Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
  • Design and manage Kubernetes clusters (GKE), ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Implement service mesh architectures using Istio or Linkerd for microservices security and observability.

DevOps & Automation

  • Lead the design and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD for seamless deployments.
  • Drive infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices using Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using Python, Bash, or Go.

Security, Compliance & Monitoring

  • Implement IAM, VPC security policies, firewall configurations, and GCP security best practices.
  • Set up and manage observability solutions (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) for proactive monitoring and alerting.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.

Performance Optimization & Incident Management

  • Analyze and optimize cost, scalability, and resilience of cloud environments.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous system improvements.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and ensure quick resolution of production issues.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of DevOps engineers.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, security, and product teams to drive DevOps best practices.
  • Own cloud strategy, decision-making, and technology adoption for long-term scalability.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Experience: 7-10 years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with strong GCP expertise.
  • GCP Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Compute Engine, GKE (Kubernetes), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, IAM, VPC, and Load Balancing.
  • Kubernetes & Containerization: Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (GKE), Helm, Docker, and microservices orchestration.
  • CI/CD & Automation: Proven experience in designing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Security & Compliance: Expertise in cloud security best practices, IAM policies, VPC configurations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Scripting & Automation: Strong Python, Bash, or Go skills for automating cloud operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for performance optimization and incident response.

Preferred:

  • Certifications: GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Cloud Architect certification.
  • Microservices & Service Mesh: Experience with Istio, Envoy, or Linkerd for microservices security and observability.
  • Database & Storage: Knowledge of Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore, or NoSQL databases.
  • Agile & DevOps Practices: Experience in Scrum/Kanban, GitOps, and DevSecOps methodologies.
