GCP Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP services such as Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.
• Build, optimize, and manage data storage and warehousing solutions using Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
• Develop and manage DBT models, workflows, and transformations using DBT Core or DBT Cloud.
• Implement modular, testable, and scalable data transformation pipelines following DBT best practices.
• Ensure data quality and transparency through testing, documentation, version control, and model lineage.
• Apply best practices in data modeling, transformation, and orchestration for reliable and scalable data systems.
• Establish and enforce data governance, security, and access controls using GCP IAM and native security tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate data.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Identify and resolve data ingestion, transformation, and performance bottlenecks.
