Role Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in GCP, Vertex AI, Python, and BigQuery. This role will focus on building scalable data pipelines, enabling AI/ML workflows, and ensuring high-quality, reliable data systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities and the ability to drive enterprise-wide data engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows
- Build and optimize data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
- Work closely with data scientists to enable Vertex AI-based ML pipelines
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across systems
- Lead architectural decisions for data platforms and pipelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance
- Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions
- Maintain documentation for data workflows and systems
Must-Have Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery)
- Python programming
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline architecture
- Experience with data modeling and database design
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence technical decisions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time/streaming data pipelines (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
- Exposure to ML pipelines and MLOps practices
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments
