Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Furniture Design, Industrial/Product Design, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of furniture design experience (residential preferred).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing concepting, CAD, prototypes, and shipped products.
  • Proficiency in:
  • CAD: AutoCAD and either SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360
  • 3D/Visualization: SketchUp; KeyShot or Blender for rendering
  • Graphics: Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Documentation: Excel/Sheets for BOMs and costings
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Wood science (movement, grain, joinery), engineered boards, and metal fabrication.
  • Upholstery fundamentals (frames, foam densities, fabric/leather behavior).
  • Joinery (mortise & tenon, dowel, dovetail, finger joints) and knock-down hardware.
  • Ergonomics, stability, and packaging for transit/drop tests.
  • Soft skills: clear communication, ownership, attention to detail, vendor coordination, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
