About us

The National Human Rights Security Bureau (NHRSB) was established on 9 February 2024 in the Siddharth Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India, as a visionary institutional initiative designed to create a structured and legally grounded framework for human rights engagement in India. It was registered as a Public Charitable Trust under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, vide Registration Number IV-07/2024. Subsequent to its establishment, the Institution was accredited with NITI Aayog (formerly the Planning Commission), Government of India, under NGO DARPAN Unique ID UP/2024/0396964. In the year 2025, the Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, conferred and granted final approval to the National Human Rights Security Bureau under Sections 12A and 80G, in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, vide Unique Registration No. AAETN5358A25LK01 and AAETN5358A25LK02 dated 27 December 2025, enabling donors for tax benefits. The National Human Rights Security Bureau is also an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution, demonstrating its commitment to organizational excellence, accountability, & continuous improvement through a rigorous quality management system in place.

Role Overview

The Fundraising Intern will be responsible for actively supporting and contributing to the organisation's fundraising efforts. This role requires the intern to independently identify potential fundraising opportunities, approach prospective donors or supporters, and work towards mobilising financial or resource support for the organisation's initiatives.

This is not a passive or task-following role. The intern will be expected to take initiative, contribute to ongoing fundraising campaigns, work towards campaign targets, and explore additional forms of donations, partnerships, or support as the case may be. The intern will coordinate periodically with NHRSB's leadership team for guidance and alignment with organisational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and research potential fundraising opportunities, including individuals, institutions, organisations, and other potential supporters.
  2. Reach out to prospective donors or contributors through appropriate communication channels to present the organisation's mission and fundraising initiatives.
  3. Actively contribute to ongoing fundraising campaigns and work towards achieving the campaign targets and mobilisation goals.
  4. Explore and facilitate different forms of support, including donations, sponsorships, partnerships, memberships, or other relevant contributions.
  5. Prepare or assist in preparing fundraising and outreach materials, including communication drafts and campaign content when required.
  6. Maintain basic records of outreach activities, potential leads, donor interactions, and provide periodic updates to the Internship Supervisor.
  7. Follow up with prospective donors and members, assist in organising virtual fundraising activities or awareness initiatives, and perform other related tasks as assigned by the competent authority.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students of any discipline from a recognized College or Institute in India or abroad, or an institution declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
  • Priority will be given to the Candidates pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Management, Communications, or any related field.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Master of Social Work students seeking internship credit are especially encouraged to apply.

Skills and competency Required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in the regional language is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of NGO operations, fundraising, or social sector work.
  • Familiarity with digital tools: Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), MS Word, MS Excel, Canva, WhatsApp.
  • Knowledge of online fundraising platforms (Give.do, Milaap, etc.) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Clear, polite, and confident communication when interacting with any stakeholder, in person or through online communication channels.
  • Ability to work independently, stay focused on targets, and manage outreach, follow-ups, and coordination without supervision.
  • Positive attitude, respectful behaviour, and willingness to follow NHRSB's rules, guidelines, Culture, and code of conduct.
