Fund Operations Research Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Fund Operations Research Analyst with deep hands-on knowledge of mutual fund operations. This role focuses on analyzing operational discrepancies, investigating reconciliation breaks, and clearly documenting root causes, resolution options, and final outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor, sound operational judgment, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to both operational and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze mutual fund operational data to identify discrepancies, exceptions, and reconciliation breaks across the trade lifecycle
- Investigate breaks to determine root cause, contributing factors, and downstream impacts
- Document issues with clear context, including background, data sources, and operational implications
- Evaluate and articulate resolution options, including trade-offs, risks, and operational feasibility
- Clearly explain the logic and rationale behind selected resolutions and final outcomes
- Produce well-structured written deliverables suitable for internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders when required
Required Experience and Skills
- 5 to 15 years of experience in mutual fund operations, fund accounting, or related middle- and back-office functions
- Strong understanding of reconciliation processesand common sources of operational breaks
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and explain operational discrepancies
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to operate independently
