About the Role

This role owns backend and full stack delivery across core platform systems, with responsibility for turning product needs into reliable software that scales. The engineer will work across Python, PHP, React, Next.js, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data layers to support modern application experiences and backend services.

The position is suited to someone who can think from first principles, make sound architectural decisions, and contribute beyond isolated tasks. Success in the role means building systems that are maintainable, performant, and ready for production while collaborating closely with product, design, AI, and leadership teams.

The work combines hands-on engineering with cross-functional coordination, so the right person should be comfortable moving between backend depth, frontend delivery, and platform thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services using Python and PHP, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and long-term platform performance.
• Develop robust APIs, microservices, and backend workflows that support product features, integrations, and smooth system-to-system communication.
• Build modern frontend experiences in React and Next.js that are responsive, high-performing, and tightly connected to backend services.
• Integrate AI models, automation workflows, and semantic systems where applicable, translating technical capability into product-level business value.
• Own cloud-native deployment patterns, CI/CD workflows, containerization, and monitoring practices that improve uptime and release confidence.
• Design efficient database structures and optimize query performance across PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and related caching systems.
• Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and sprint execution to improve engineering quality and keep delivery aligned with business priorities.

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Strong hands-on experience with Python, PHP, React.js, and Next.js, with the ability to ship both backend services and user-facing application layers.
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, backend architecture, authentication flows, distributed systems, and application scalability in production environments.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Git/GitHub workflows, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux-based development or deployment environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or VPS infrastructure, with practical understanding of deployment and operations tradeoffs.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and systems thinking skills, especially when diagnosing performance, reliability, or integration issues.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote-first setup and contribute effectively across functions.
• Exposure to AI APIs, vector databases, event-driven systems, or ecommerce platforms is a strong advantage for this role.

Additional Plus

• Experience working with AI/LLM systems, LangChain, RAG pipelines, or AI agents is a strong plus for building intelligent product experiences.
• Background in SaaS or ecommerce platforms, including SEO/GEO/AEO systems, will help accelerate impact in the company's product environment.
• Open-source contributions or a strong GitHub portfolio will help demonstrate the ability to build and ship production-quality work independently.
