Job Description

Position Title: Finance System Manager

Department: Group Finance

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day system maintenance of financial applications to ensure availability, stability, and performance.
  • Coordinate patching activities across environments in collaboration with IT and system vendors, ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Manage and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) during system upgrades, enhancements, and new module deployments.
  • Administer user maintenance, including access provisioning, deactivation, and user role reviews in line with audit and compliance standards.
  • Design and deliver training programs to finance users for both existing functionalities and new system implementations.
  • Act as a project manager or key workstream lead for finance system integration, enhancement, and rollout projects
  • Support functional design and build of new finance systems and modules being introduced as part of global transformation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with global finance and IT teams for requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, and go-live support.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across finance systems through monitoring, validation, and reconciliations.
  • Document system processes, procedures, training materials, and configurations for audit and knowledge management purposes.
  • Serve as the point of contact for system-related issues, enhancements, and change requests raised by finance stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize finance system usage and automation.
  • Participate in finance transformation efforts including system migrations, upgrades, or introduction of BI/automation tools
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and consultants for system support, development, and licensing matters.

Functional & Behavioural Competencies required:

Functional Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of finance system architecture and ERP platforms such as Workday Adaptive Planning & Consol, Sun GL, Global HRIS, Proactis, or similar.
  • Experience in system administration, patch management, UAT coordination, and user provisioning.
  • Familiarity with finance functions such as GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle methodologies including Agile or Waterfall
  • Hands-on experience with system documentation, user training, and governance compliance
  • Strong command over MS Excel and exposure to reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau is desirable.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking, especially in a systems and process environment.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise between finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and timelines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • High level of accountability and ownership in system-related deliverables.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to mentor users and promote adoption of technology solutions
  • Flexible and open to working across time zones and global stakeholder environments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field; a post-graduate qualification (MBA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in finance systems management, integration, or financial IT support roles within a multinational or shared service environment.
  • Proven experience in supporting or leading system implementation, upgrades, and process transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to the insurance, financial services, or broking sector is an added advantage
  • Strong documentation and governance orientation aligned with audit and compliance frameworks
