About the Role:

We're looking for talented Software Engineers with strong web front-end skills to join our innovative Visibility Platform team. This greenfield project is powered by vast amounts of data, offering an exciting opportunity to innovate how we present critical information to users. You'll be working to provide increased quality of visibility into containerized shipment movements and associated attributes like delays, extra charges incurred, and emissions. This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on how our customers gain insights into their global supply chains.

Here are some of the things the role involves (Key Responsibilities):

• Design Collaboration: Work closely with the UX and product team to iterate on and provide feedback on mocks and designs, ensuring they effectively solve user problems.
• API Design Contribution: Work backward from design mocks to help design efficient and performant API structures that can power the front-end views.
• UI Development Excellence: When building views, care deeply about semantic HTML, responsive design, and rendering performance.
• Design System Adherence: Work within Maersk's design system conventions, ensuring consistency in design language across multiple micro-applications.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure hygiene practices like test coverage, performance profiling, etc., are in place and gated with automated checks.
• Code Review & Learning: Actively participate in code reviews, encouraging them as a tool for team members to learn from each other.
• Inclusive Collaboration: Work in an inclusive manner with team members across diverse geographies, time zones, and cultures.

About You (Required Skills & Qualifications):

• Core Web Technologies: Be highly proficient with semantic HTML, modern CSS, and plain JavaScript.
• Responsive Design: Be highly proficient with responsive design.
• Framework Familiarity: Be familiar with at least one of React, Vue, Svelte, or Angular.
• Openness to Vue: Be open to working with Vue, as that is our primary framework.
• Build Systems: Be familiar with at least one build system like Webpack.
• Testing: Be familiar with a test framework like Jest, and be comfortable writing tests for any JavaScript code you write.
• Node.js & npm: Be familiar with Node.js and the npm ecosystem.
• Library Awareness: Be aware of common reusable open-source libraries, while also being mindful of not causing bloated dependencies.
• Adaptability & Learning: Be open to deep diving into other parts of the tech stack and learning new skills on the go.
• Developer Productivity: Be a stickler for developer productivity, and always be on the lookout to get things done more efficiently.
• Modern Tools: Be adept at using modern LLM-based tools (like GitHub Copilot) to increase the quality and speed of your work.
• Communication: Be effective at both written and spoken communication, and exhibit the same in writing code that is well-understood by other developers.
• Domain Knowledge (Bonus): Having knowledge about the logistics and supply chain domain would be a bonus.
