A community retail pharmacy operating in the healthcare retail sector, serving walk-in patients, caregivers, and local clinics in Koramangala, Bangalore. We provide prescription dispensing, OTC medicines, basic patient counselling, and evening pharmacy coverage to ensure continuity of care. This is an on-site, evening-shift role covering 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Role: Pharmacy Assistant (Evening Shift) - Fresher
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive and process prescriptions accurately; prepare and dispense medicines under supervision in line with standard operating procedures.
- Provide courteous front-line customer service: advise on OTC products, assist customers with basic medication queries, and escalate clinical questions to a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage inventory: restock shelves, check expiry dates, perform daily stock reconciliation and report discrepancies.
- Operate cash register and handle billing, returns, and simple reconciliation at shift end.
- Maintain accurate records: prescription logs, customer details, and stock movement with attention to confidentiality and compliance.
- Ensure store hygiene, organise product displays, and support opening/closing checklists for the evening shift.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Education: 1st or 2nd PUC (Pre-University) OR diploma/degree in pharmacy (D.Pharm/B.Pharm) freshers welcome.
- Willingness to work on-site in Koramangala, Bangalore from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
- Good communication skills in English and basic local language (Kannada preferred) for patient interaction.
- Basic numeracy and cash-handling experience; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer-service orientation and ability to follow SOPs and supervisor instructions.
Preferred
- Prior exposure to retail pharmacy, internship, or familiarity with common OTC products and prescriptions.
- Knowledge of basic pharmacy record-keeping, expiry management, and simple inventory tools (Excel/stock book).
