Flexing It is a freelance consulting marketplace that connects freelancers and independent consultants with organisations seeking independent talent.

Flexing It has partnered with Our client world's leading health and safety organization is looking to engage with a Project Manager.

Role Split:

• 50% PMO Strategic Project Delivery – Managed and performance reviewed by PMO

Manager

• 50% UK Client Project Management – Work direction and prioritisation provided by

designated UK Client Leads

The postholder is accountable for delivering both areas of responsibility and will escalate issues by exception where there are cross-portfolio risks, dependencies or impacts.

The role is responsible for:

Programme Office (50%)

• Managing and delivering Strategic PMO Projects that are typically cross-functional, high

priority or organizationally significant.

• Embedding structured project management standards, governance and reporting in line with PMO expectations.

• Ensuring projects are aligned to organizational strategy, business planning priorities and value delivery.

• Maintaining strong oversight of risks, budgets, dependencies, resource allocation and delivery milestones.

• Supporting the development of a strong project management culture through adherence to governance standards and best practice.

UK Client Project Management (50%)

Leading and delivering UK Client Projects to agreed scope, timelines, budget and quality standards. Managing client-facing delivery, stakeholder coordination, reporting and issue resolution. Ensuring client priorities are met while maintaining alignment with internal governance standards. Escalating risks or cross-portfolio impacts where required.

Duties and key responsibilities

1. Generate and maintain detailed project plans using appropriate tools, methods and systems.

2. Ensure all project management tools (plans, RAID logs, trackers, backlogs, reporting dashboards) are established and consistently maintained.

3. Support Business Case development by ensuring complete and accurate data for Executive decision-making.

4. Ensure project governance standards are adhered to and documentation meets required quality expectations.

5. Manage projects to agreed time, budget, scope and quality parameters.

6. Identify, track and manage inter-project dependencies and resource conflicts.

7. Ensure budgets are allocated at initiation and monitored throughout the project lifecycle.

8. Produce accurate and timely progress reports for PMO, Executive and Client stakeholders.

9. Monitor risks and issues proactively and escalate by exception where delivery or portfolio priorities are impacted.

10. Liaise across departments, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery of objectives.

11. Hold stakeholders accountable for agreed actions and milestones.

12. Support continuous improvement of PMO methodologies, templates and delivery standards.

13. Contribute to programme-level reporting and portfolio visibility where required.

14. Promote awareness of structured project management practices across the organisation.

15. Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of self, colleagues and others in line with organisational expectations.

Skills Required

• Recognised Project Management Certification (PMP / PRINCE2 / APMG / Agile certification).

• Strong organisational and project management skills with proven delivery to time, budget and quality.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (verbal and written).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

• Experience working with Agile methodologies and associated ceremonies.

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Desirable

• Experience working with Salesforce.

• Strong technology understanding.

• Experience managing international projects.

• Experience working in medium-sized organisations.
