Role Description
This is a volunteer remote role for a Freelance Interior Designer. The Interior Designer will be responsible for creating design plans for various interior spaces, collaborating with clients to achieve impactful and functional designs, and developing detailed construction drawings. Daily tasks include crafting innovative interior design concepts, space planning, sourcing and recommending furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), and ensuring designs adhere to architectural and building standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Space Planning and Interior Design to create functional and aesthetically pleasing interiors
- Proficiency in Architecture and Construction Drawings to create detailed plans and collaborate with contractors
- Experience with FF&E selection to source and recommend appropriate furnishings, fixtures, and equipment
- Strong communication and client collaboration skills
- Proficiency with design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar)
- Understanding of current interior design trends and sustainability principles
- Knowledge of building safety codes and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is preferred
