As a Frappe/ERPNext Developer at Akhilam, you'll build the custom layer that makes our clients operations actually work from custom DocTypes and server scripts to full API integrations with third-party platforms. With 3–5 years of solid backend experience, you know your way around Python and the Frappe framework, and you're comfortable owning a feature end-to-end from reading a functional spec to deploying a working solution. You'll work alongside consultants and QA on real, complex implementations across industries like Manufacturing, Pharma, eCommerce, and Construction.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Develop custom Frappe applications, DocTypes, server-side scripts, and hooks tailored to client business requirements
2. Build and maintain REST API integrations between ERPNext and external platforms — logistics, eCommerce, marketplaces, payment gateways, and more
3. Write clean, maintainable Python code following Frappe conventions and internal development standards
4. Design and optimise MariaDB queries for performance-heavy reporting and data-intensive workflows
5. Collaborate with consultants to translate functional requirements into precise technical solutions
6. Debug and resolve issues raised during UAT, go-live, and post-go-live stabilisation
7. Participate in code reviews and help raise the technical bar across the team
8. Contribute to internal tooling, automation pipelines, and AI integration initiatives

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Frappe Framework and ERPNext development
• Strong Python skills — you write clean, readable, production-ready code
• Proven experience building REST API integrations with third-party platforms
• Solid understanding of ERPNext's core architecture — DocTypes, hooks, controllers, permissions
• Familiarity with MariaDB / SQL — comfortable writing and optimising queries
• Experience working from functional specs and coordinating with non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows

Nice to Have:

• Experience with automation tools like Make.com, N8N, or Zapier
• Exposure to AI/LLM integrations — Claude API, OpenAI, or similar
• Knowledge of Next.js, React, or Vue.js for frontend customisation
• Prior contributions to open-source Frappe apps or the Frappe community
• Understanding of Indian compliance flows — GST, TDS, e-invoicing
