FPGA/EDA Engineer

The Role

AMD is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our Automation team, focusing on FPGA/EDA flows, AI skills and Linux-based automation. You will work with cutting-edge hardware and software technologies to design, develop, and optimize automation frameworks that improve performance, scalability, and reliability across key applications and benchmarks.

The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments, communicates effectively across diverse teams, and demonstrates ownership, accountability, and a data-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AMD's software, DevOps, and verification teams to achieve common goals.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions on Linux platforms.
• Create and enhance testcases to strengthen regression suites and prevent failures.
• Analyze and debug HW/SW regression testcase failures, performing deep root-cause analysis.
• Develop automation scripts and frameworks using Python and Bash.
• Drive automation initiatives across FPGA/EDA flows to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Good understanding of Vivado FPGA flows or EDA flow, RTL digital design, and timing analysis.
• Good knowledge and hands-on in Agentic AI.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in technical leadership or mentoring junior engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in FPGA/EDA software tools and flows.
• Hands on knowledge on Vivado or any related FPGA tool.
• Must have worked in RTL designs and Timing Analysis
• Familiarity with EDA, performance testing, monitoring, or observability tools.

Academic Credentials

Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent discipline, with experience handling complex issues related to FPGA flows and automation systems.

• Ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence technical decisions.
• Clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
