About the Role
This is a high-exposure role working directly with the Founder of an education-focused nonprofit. The intern will support strategy execution, storytelling, outreach, and external-facing work.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, writing, structuring ideas, and translating vision into clear outputs - decks, proposals, and content.
Key Responsibilities
Deck Creation & Storytelling (Core)
- Create and iterate on:
- Fundraising decks
- Program and partnership decks
- Concept notes and presentations
- Convert rough inputs (notes, voice notes, conversations) into structured slides
- Maintain a repository of standard slides and narratives for reuse
Research and Synthesis
- Conduct desk research on:
- Grants, CSR priorities, and funders
- Education trends, policies, and comparable organisations
- Synthesise research into:
- Clear summaries
- Insight briefs
- Actionable recommendations (not raw data dumps)
Proposal and Concept Note Writing
- Draft:
- Grant proposals
- CSR outreach notes
- Partnership proposals
- Customise proposals based on funder priorities and context
- Track proposal submissions and follow-ups
Collaterals and Brand Consistency
- Support creation of:
- One-pagers
- Brochures
- Impact summaries
- Coordinate with designers and ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visuals across materials
PR & External Outreach Support
- Research and build a list of relevant media outlets and journalists (education, social impact, leadership)
- Draft PR pitch emails and story ideas
- Track outreach and responses
- Support preparation of materials for features, interviews, or mentions
Personal Branding Support (Execution-focused)
- Support the Founder's personal brand by:
- Structuring ideas into post drafts
- Repurposing existing content (talks, notes, reflections)
- Managing content calendars and posting logistics
Who we're Looking For
Must haves -
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to structure ideas clearly and logically
- Experience with decks (Google Slides / PowerPoint / Canva)
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Notion AI, Grammarly, etc.) to improve speed, quality, and clarity of research, writing, and drafting
- Ability to use AI thoughtfully (not copy-paste) and refine outputs with human judgment
- Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving briefs
- High ownership and follow-through
- Interest in education, social impact, or entrepreneurship
Good to Have -
- Basic understanding of branding or communications
- Prior experience in research, consulting, media, or content roles
