Formwork Foreman HighRise Residential Buildings (MIVAN & Conventional Formwork)
The Formwork Foreman is responsible for supervising and executing all formwork activities for
high-rise residential building structures. The role requires strong handson experience in
MIVAN Aluminium Formwork, while also managing
conventional and modular shuttering for podiums, basements, and non-MIVAN areas. The candidate must ensure safe, quality, and timely completion of structural work floors in a residential tower.
Key Responsibilities
- MIVAN Aluminium Formwork (Primary Responsibility)
- Execute and supervise MIVAN formworkfor:
- Shear walls and partition walls
- Slabs and beams
- Columns and lift cores
- Staircases and landing areas
- Balcony and faade elements (where applicable)
- Achieve planned cycle times (daily/2-day/3-day cycle) for highrise residential floors.
- Ensure correct alignment, plumb, line, and level of panels before concreting.
- Inspect MIVAN panels for dents, damage, misalignment, and coordinate repairs.
- Ensure proper shuttering oil application, joint tightening, and tie-rod fixing to avoid leakage or honeycombing.
- Conventional & Other Formwork Systems
- Supervise non-MIVAN formworkfor:
- Podiums
- Basements
- Water tanks
- Sumps, ramps, retaining walls
- Lift machine rooms and terrace structures
- Manage MS shuttering, plywood formwork, modular systems, and cuplock scaffolding.
- Ensure correct support spacing, safe propping/de-propping, and structural stability.
Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with structural engineers, MEP teams, and bar-bending teams to ensure readiness of all embeds, sleeves, conduits, and reinforcement before shutter closing.
- Work with concrete teams to ensure smooth sequencing of pour cycles.
- Plan manpower requirements for carpenters, helpers, and shifting crews.
- Ensure MIVAN and conventional shuttering zones do not clash in mixed-residential block layouts.
- Safety & Quality Assurance
- Enforce safety practices for working at height, panel lifting, de-shuttering, and prop shifting.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure PPE compliance.
- Check MIVAN surfaces after de-shuttering for:
- Honeycombing
- Blowouts
- Surface finish quality
- Ensure slab soffit and wall shutter removal follows structural curing and stripping guidelines.
- Material & Inventory Control
- Maintain inventory records of:
- MIVAN panels, Wall ties, pins, wedges, Soldiers, props, beams, and scaffolding
- Ensure timely repair, cleaning, and proper stacking of panels after stripping.
- Avoid damage, wastage, or loss of shuttering materials.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Update daily progress of MIVAN and conventional formwork activities.
- Maintain checklists, formwork inspection records, and de-shuttering logs.
- Report delays, constraints, and manpower/material shortages to the Site Engineer/Section Incharge.
Qualifications & Skills
- ITI / Diploma in Civil Engineering (preferred)
- 38 years of experience in residential building construction MIVAN Aluminium Formwork
- Strong knowledge of:
- Formwork sequencing for high-rise residential floors
- Structural drawings, MIVAN shop drawings, and pour plans
- Safety standards related to shuttering, height work, and lifting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
