Role Overview
The Food Technologist will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day production operations, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and supporting research and development for new products. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety systems, manufacturing processes, and product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing.
- Plan and manage production schedules based on demand and inventory requirements.
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with procurement and operations teams for raw material planning and availability.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Implement and monitor QA/QC processes to maintain product quality and food safety.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, and ISO 22000 standards.
- Maintain documentation related to food safety, quality checks, and compliance audits.
- Identify process improvements to reduce waste and improve product consistency.
Research & Development (R&D)
- Support New Product Development (NPD) including concept development, trials, and scale-up.
- Work on improving existing products through formulation and process optimization.
- Explore and implement modern processing techniques including non-thermal processing methods where applicable.
Training & Process Implementation
- Train production staff on food safety practices, hygiene standards, and SOPs.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures across the production floor.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing facility.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Food Technology / Food Science (preferred).
Experience
- 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, production, or R&D.
- Experience in F&B manufacturing plants will be highly preferred.
- Freshers are welcome to apply, however candidates with upto 2 years of relevant experience would be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of GMP, GHP, HACCP, and ISO 22000 systems
- Knowledge of food processing technologies and manufacturing operations
- Exposure to non-thermal processing techniques
- Experience in product trials, formulation, and scaling up production
- Good documentation and analytical skills
- Ability to work closely with production teams and drive process improvements
