About the Role
We are seeking an experienced FMS System Test Engineer with strong expertise in Avionics System Testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Flight Management Systems (FMS) or related avionics systems, with a solid understanding of aircraft operational functions such as flight planning, performance, and MCDU operations.
This position focuses on system-level testing (not software testing) and requires deep functional knowledge of avionics systems in a structured aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain system-level test procedures for FMS and other avionics systems.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and validation testing in simulated or real avionics environments.
- Analyze system behavior, identify discrepancies, and document findings with high accuracy.
- Review system requirements, specifications, and interface documents to derive test scenarios.
- Work closely with system engineers, design teams, and certification teams to ensure conformance to standards.
- Participate in defect triage, root-cause discussions, and corrective action verification.
- Prepare detailed test reports, traceability matrices, and compliance documentation as per aerospace guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 45 years of experience in Avionics System Testing (mandatory).
- Strong working knowledge of Flight Management Systems (FMS); experience with other avionics systems is also acceptable.
- Functional understanding of:
- Flight Planning
- Flight Performance
- MCDU (Multi-Function Control Display Unit)
- Experience working with aircraft operational workflows, navigation databases, or flight deck interfaces.
- Ability to work within DO178/DO160/DO254 based development and testing environments (good understanding preferred).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)
- Familiarity with ARINC protocols (e.g., ARINC 424, ARINC 702).
- Experience with avionics simulators, test benches, or hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Background in aircraft operations, airline systems, or certification support.
- Exposure to system verification & validation lifecycle in aerospace.
