Role Overview

As an Assistant Vice President (AVP) in First Line Risk and Control (FLRC) Transformation and Governance, you will support the ongoing transformation and governance of the Technology FLRC function. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help ensure effective risk management, control processes, and governance activities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive action-focused transformation by overseeing the team's commitments and scheduled output, ensuring deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.
  • Assist in the implementation and tracking of risk management and control initiatives within the Technology FLRC function.
  • Support the maintenance of governance frameworks and help coordinate key governance forums and meetings.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of materials for risk reviews, business continuity planning, and governance reporting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different teams to gather information and support risk and control projects.
  • Help monitor progress against project plans and ensure activities are delivered on time.
  • Support the documentation and optimization of processes for efficiency and consistency.
  • Assist with stakeholder communications and reporting, including preparing presentations and written updates for management.
  • Support the people agenda and culture initiatives by helping to organize team engagement activities, promoting an inclusive work environment, and assisting with programs that foster a positive team culture.

  • Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn about risk management and governance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, technology).
  • 12+ years of experience in risk management, governance, compliance, or a related area (internships or placements count).
  • Interest in technology risk, IT governance, or process improvement.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks (such as ITIL, COBIT, or NIST) is a plus, but not required.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CISA, ITIL) are advantageous but not mandatory.

Additional Requirements


  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities.
