Role:

Lead the design, development, and qualification of spacecraft separation devices. Own the full lifecyclefrom architecture and detailed design through analysis, testing, supplier coordination, and flight qualification.

Responsibilities:

• Own design, architecture, and qualification of spacecraft separation systems.
• Lead development of separation mechanisms for spacecraft/platforms.
• Support dynamic modelling and modal response simulations.
• Plan and execute qualification testing: vibration, shock, and TVAC.
• Collaborate with systems and structures teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Deliver flight-qualified hardware and complete documentation (drawings, analyses, procedures, reports).
• Drive procurement and vendor coordination for parts and services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering (or related).
• 510 years in spacecraft mechanisms, including 3 years specifically on separation systems.
• Hands-on experience with flight-proven separation hardware.
• Strong GD&T (ASME Y14.5), DFM, DfAM; tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with SolidWorks (layouts/linkages) or equivalent mechanism design tools.
• Modelling of complex joints; vibration analysis & testing for mechanisms.
• Experience preparing CMM probing area descriptions for inspection.
• Knowledge of coatings, plating, and surface treatments for mechanism hardware.
• Proficiency with ANSYS (or similar CAE) for structural, modal, and thermal analyses.
• Experience running qualification campaigns (shock, vibration, TVAC).
• Proven supplier/procurement coordination and schedule ownership.
