Fleet Operations Manager
Location: Dewas Naka, Indore
Reporting To: Unit Head
Job Objective
Ensure maximum utilization of the company's fleet of trucks used for inter-factory transfers, with the objective of achieving a minimum of two trips per truck per day through efficient planning, coordination, and disciplined execution. The role will also oversee vehicle maintenance, driver management, and operational record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily movement of trucks used for inter-factory transfers to ensure maximum fleet utilization, targeting at least two trips per truck per day.
- Coordinate with factory teams to reduce loading and unloading delays and minimize vehicle idle time.
- Supervise all drivers, manage duty schedules, attendance, and maintain discipline and safe driving practices.
- Train drivers on vehicle care, safety, fuel-efficient driving, and operational discipline.
- Ensure timely maintenance, servicing, and repairs of all vehicles to keep the fleet in optimal working condition
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle mileage, and operating costs to identify inefficiencies and control expenses.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movement, trips, fuel usage, and maintenance data in Google Sheets and prepare periodic reports.
- Ensure all vehicle documents, insurance, permits, and compliance requirements are valid and up to date.
- Route Planning and Scheduling: Take responsibility for route planning and trip scheduling to reduce turnaround time and increase the number of daily trips.
- Document Validation: Ensure all vehicle documents are validated and updated, including Insurance, Fitness, PUC, Permit, RC, and Road Tax.
- Log Books: Maintain daily vehicle-wise log books for all company vehicles.
Required Skills
- Strong operational planning and coordination
