Planning, design and documentation based on official approvals, qualification reports, physical principles, international building regulations and internal and external test reports.
What You'll Do
- Analyzing and interpreting official approvals, qualification reports, physical principles, international building regulations and internal and external test reports, & provide firestop solutions based upon their needs
- Analyzing and completing customer inquiries through direct communication with the Lead Engineer. Meet assigned deadlines for project assignments
- Suggest to team leader new product opportunities, approval extensions and testing based on experience
- Planning, designing and documenting of approvals considering the product portfolio of the respective country.
- Plan, conduct and negotiate internal and external fire tests with institutes.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new design engineers
- Provide engineering support for firestop requests through the appropriate systems and tools (HCP, ServiceNow, Decisions.com, phone, email, conference call and others)
- Educate Hilti personnel on testing processes, firestop properties, additional attributes, application knowledge and procedures according to relevant building codes
- Review content developed for external training to include but not limited to seminars, webinars, and externally posted online training documentation
What You'll Bring
- Completed university degree (graduate engineer, bachelor or master) in the field of mechanical engineering, civil engineer or materials science.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in the field of mechanical engineering, materials science; ideally experience in technical field in fire protection (testing engineer, approval engineer, design engineer)
- Proficiency in CAD software, Navisworks and other design tools and technologies to create, modify, and optimize designs
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills and a highly goal-oriented approach
- Team player with excellent communication skills in an interdisciplinary and international environment
- Ability to organize and utilize large amounts of reference information both in hardcopy and electronic files
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems, Ability to work effectively under a team discipline
- Aptitude to read and understand blueprints, construction specifications, and technical documents
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Good planning and organizing skills required
