Times Network is Hiring Assistant Manager Financial Planning & Analysis
Position Overview: The candidate is responsible for managing the financial operations of the branded content vertical, with a focus on revenue assurance, cost provisioning, and detailed MIS reporting. The role ensures accurate tracking of event revenues and costs, supports month-end close, and provides actionable insights to business and finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Assurance Branded Content
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue from branded content deals.
- Reconcile revenue between contracts, media plans, billing systems, and finance records.
- Track unbilled revenue, milestones-based billing, and deferred revenue for branded content campaigns.
- Identify revenue leakages, delays, or mismatches and support resolution with Sales and Operations teams.
- Support monthly revenue closure and reporting.
Cost Provisioning & Campaign Cost Tracking
- Prepare and maintain cost provisions for branded content events (production, talent, agency, media, platform costs, etc.).
- Track actual costs vs provisions and perform variance analysis.
- Coordinate with content, production, procurement, and operations teams to estimate costs.
- Ensure timely true-up and reversal of cost provisions.
Cost Reporting & MIS
- Prepare detailed cost MIS reports by event, client, brand, and platform.
- Track contribution margins and event-level profitability.
- Maintain cost trackers and dashboards to monitor budget utilization.
- Support management reviews with accurate and timely cost insights.
Financial & Performance MIS
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports covering revenue, costs, margins, and KPIs.
- Support preparation of management decks for branded content performance reviews.
- Assist in automating MIS reports and improving data accuracy and turnaround time.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support commercial and operational decisions.
Controls, Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain proper documentation for revenue and cost entries.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, approval workflows, and accounting policies.
- Support internal and statutory audits related to revenue and cost reporting.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with Sales, Branded Content, Production, Operations, and Finance teams.
- Act as finance SPOC for campaign-level revenue and cost queries.
- Support senior finance partners in business reviews and planning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / Post Graduate preferred.
- 14 years of experience in finance roles; experience in media, digital, advertising, or content businesses preferred.
- Understanding of revenue recognition and accrual accounting.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and strong MS Excel skills; Power BI/Tableau is a plus.
