Job Title: Financial Operations Analyst
Role Overview
We are looking for a Financial & Operations Analyst to help track and analyze the financial performance of our transportation services. This role focuses on understanding the numbers behind trips, supplier costs, pricing decisions, and overall operational performance. The position is focused on financial analysis and reporting, not bookkeeping or traditional accounting. The candidate should be comfortable working with spreadsheets, analyzing operational data, and presenting clear financial summaries.
Work Schedule
Remote position based in India.
Monday to Saturday
8:00 AM 5:00 PM Toronto time
Equivalent in India:
5:30 PM 2:30 AM IST (including 1 hour break)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain structured tracking of revenue, supplier payments, and trip costs.
- Calculate profitability of each trip including revenue, supplier cost, gross profit, and margin percentage.
- Maintain and update a trip profitability tracking sheet.
- Prepare weekly financial summaries showing revenue, costs, margins, and operational performance.
- Prepare monthly financial reports including revenue breakdown, supplier costs, and profitability trends.
- Assist leadership with pricing analysis by reviewing supplier costs and margin targets.
- Track advertising spend versus revenue performance.
- Review operational data and ensure financial records match actual trip activity and supplier payouts.
- Identify trends or issues affecting profitability and report insights to leadership.
Required Skills
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Ability to build financial tracking sheets and dashboards
- Comfortable working with formulas and financial calculations
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred Background
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business Analytics
- Experience in financial analysis or operations analytics
- Experience working with service businesses, logistics, travel, or transportation companies is an advantage
