Job Title: Director - Finance Location: [Mumbai]
About the Role: We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Director - Finance who will act as a strategic partner to the Finance Head/CFO, driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and governance. The role combines strategic insight with hands-on execution, ensuring financial discipline, scalability, and decision support for business leadership. The role requires a seasoned finance leader with strong expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis, business partnering, MIS, revenue recognition, ERP implementation, and team leadership. The individual will act as a key business advisor to the leadership team, driving profitability, financial discipline, system automation, and long-term strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Finance & Business Leadership:
● Partner with the CEO and Leadership Team to define long-term business strategy, annual operating plans, and 5-year growth roadmap.
● Evaluate new market expansion, digital spends, investments, and business initiatives through detailed financial feasibility models.
● Provide actionable insights backed by projections, scenario planning, and risk assessment.
● Drive financial governance and ensure alignment of financial goals with business objectives.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
● Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and strategic planning cycles.
● Develop and monitor segmental P&L, cash flow analysis, cost optimization, and profitability metrics.
● Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecasts; highlight risks and opportunities.
● Drive data-backed decision-making through dashboards, live MIS, and financial analytics.
3. Internal Controls & Risk Governance:
● Ownership of Internal Financial Controls (IFC), risk management, SOPs, and audit governance.
● Oversee preparation and finalization of standalone and consolidated financial statements (IND-AS compliant).
● Ensure accurate revenue recognition (including IND AS 115 standards where applicable).
● Manage statutory audits, tax compliance, banking relationships, and regulatory requirements.
● Strengthen internal controls, accounting processes, and financial governance frameworks.
4. Operations & Process Excellence:
● Oversee end-to-end finance operations: AR, AP, GL, Payroll, Taxation, Banking & Audits.
● Optimize working capital, collections, and cash flow management.
● Lead cost optimization initiatives across departments
● Exposure to treasury management, liquidity planning, banking covenants, and (where applicable) forex risk management..
● Implement strong performance tracking mechanisms across business verticals.
5. Systems, ERP & Automation Leadership:
● Drive ERP implementations, migrations, and system upgrades (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central).
● Lead internal digital transformation initiatives including dashboard development and automation projects.
● Partner with IT teams for development of MIS, database systems, intranet tools, and f inance process automation.
● Ensure creation of a single source of truth for business data.
6. Team Leadership & Talent Development:
● Partner with business and commercial teams on pricing decisions, contract margin analysis, bid/RFP evaluations, and business unit profitability tracking to support informed decision-making and drive financial performance.
● Lead and mentor finance, accounts, payroll, and MIS teams.
● Build scalable finance structures to support high-growth environments.
● Establish KPIs and performance metrics for finance teams.
● Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience:
● Graduate with MBA / PGDM / Engineering Graduates
● 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting with at least 6-8 years in a leadership or team management role.
● Experience in IT services, SaaS, PropTech, digital-first, or high-growth businesses are preferred.
● Proven experience in FP&A, Business Planning, MIS, and Strategic Finance.
● Experience in ERP implementation and finance system transformation
● Strong exposure to revenue recognition, consolidation, and compliance.
● Exposure to M&A activities, investor reporting, and Private Equity/strategic due diligence processes will be an added advantage, enabling effective support in strategic finance initiatives and stakeholder requirements.
