Role Overview :
The Financial Controller will be the lead accounting professional, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and maintaining strict compliance with EPF, ESI, GST, and Gratuity regulations. This role reports directly to the General Manager/CFO and acts as a strategic partner in managing the park's growth and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure all reporting complies with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and local Kerala labor laws.
- Oversee statutory filings, including GST (especially since the company name change), Corporate Tax, and TDS.
- Manage the transition and documentation for EPF/ESI audits and ensure timely employer contributions.
2. Internal Controls & Operations
- Maintain and upgrade the Internal Control Framework to prevent leakages in park revenue (ticket sales, F&B, Snow Park operations).
- Supervise the newly implemented biometric attendance system to ensure accurate payroll processing and labor cost management.
- Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including migrant staff recruitment service charges and vendor payments.
3. Budgeting & Cost Analysis
- Coordinate the annual budget and provide monthly variance analysis (Actual vs. Budgeted).
- Monitor high-impact costs such as electricity for the Snow Park, maintenance for rides, and specialized engineering spare parts.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new park attractions or facility upgrades.
4. Audit & Treasury
- Act as the primary point of contact for external and internal auditors.
- Manage cash flow and bank relationships, ensuring sufficient working capital for peak holiday seasons.
- Supervise administrative staff (including payroll/attendance roles) to ensure data accuracy.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Certification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from the ICAI is mandatory.
- Experience: 510 years of post-qualification experience (Experience in the Hospitality, Tourism, or Amusement Park industry is highly preferred).
- Technical Skills: * Mastery of Tally Prime or advanced ERP systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Financial Modeling).
- Deep knowledge of Kerala-specific labor regulations (Gratuity, Sickness benefits).
