We are looking for a Financial Controller who can take ownership of our finance function end-to-end. This role is critical in ensuring financial discipline, compliance, and strategic support as we scale. You'll be both hands-on and strategic, balancing daily operations with long-term planning.
Responsibilities
- Financial Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and cash flow management tailored to a startup environment.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets, financial models, and forecasts to support growth and fundraising.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to RBI, SEBI, and other regulatory requirements relevant to neobanking.
- Investor and Board Reporting: Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for leadership and investors, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Process and Controls: Establish scalable financial processes, internal controls, and policies suitable for a growing company.
- Taxation and Audit: Manage statutory audits and tax filings, and coordinate with external auditors and consultants.
- Strategic Finance: Partner with leadership on fundraising, capital allocation, and financial strategy.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Handle payments, contracts, and financial negotiations with vendors, partners, and service providers.
Requirements
- Qualifications Education: Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience, of which at least 2 years of independently managing P & L in finance roles, preferably in fintech, startups, fund management, or investment banking.
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance.
- Experience with financial modeling, MIS, and investor reporting.
- Exposure to fund management or investment banking practices, with the ability to translate insights into startup finance strategy.
- Ability to set up processes in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
- Proficiency in tools like Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.
