Role Overview:
We are looking for a Finance Controller to join our F&A practice, supporting our European / German clients across accounting, controllership, and financial reporting. The role involves managing CXO level client engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and acting as a key point of contact for international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end finance and accounting engagements for European / German clients in a shared services environment
- Hands-on execution of core accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established accounting standards and timelines.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting in compliance with international standards like, UK GAAP, German GAAP (HGB), IFRS, and internal firm methodologies
- Review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with strict adherence to timelines and quality standards before final delivery
- Review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules before client delivery
- Process Orientation: Should follow defined SOPs, policies, and guidelines.
- Act as the primary liaison with multiple stakeholders (CXO Level, onshore teams, auditors, and tax advisors)
- Drive compliance with internal controls, SOX (where applicable), and firm risk management policies
- Support statutory audits and regulatory reporting, addressing complex accounting and audit queries
- Lead, mentor, and review work performed by junior team members and analysts
- Identify process improvement opportunities, standardization, and automation initiatives
- Support transition of new clients/processes and stabilization of ongoing engagements
Skills & Experience
- CA / Cost Accountant with 78 years of post-qualification experience
- Prior experience in audit, consulting, or finance shared services environment preferred
- Hands-on experience managing European/ German accounting clients
- Strong working knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); IFRS expertise is highly desirable
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and cross-border engagements
- Strong project management, client handling, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a matrix organization with global stakeholders
- Proficiency in handling ERPs and advanced MS Excel
